Edward Stetz passed away peacefully at his home at age 72. Ed leaves behind his daughter Rachel, sisters Laura (John) and Phyllis (Sam), as well as his large chosen family, including Tom and Deb (Luis). He was preceded in death by his parents, Marge and Edward.
Ed worked for the City of Akron before joining the Stark County Building Department as Chief Building Inspector. After retirement, he continued to share his love of architecture with students at Kent State University, where he graduated from the School of Architecture.
Ed was an avid traveler and student of the world, who always pursed new passions like glass blowing or philosophy. He was always on the move and eager to share what he learned with a story that would have you in stitches.
A celebration of Ed's life will be held at the Winery at Wolf Creek in Norton on July 20th at 5:30pm. Come as you are; no need to wear black unless that is your thing or you are looking for an opportunity to wear some leather. If you have a story about a time he made you laugh, Rachel would love to hear it. Please reach out if you would like to say a few words at the celebration. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Dorian Gray Foundation or the Trevor Project.
