Helen Brinker

August 29, 1922 — February 16, 2025

After "A Visitation from God" a daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend, passed away on Feb. 16, 2025, at 102. Born August 29, 1922 and raised in New York City. Helen graduated from Evander Childs High School in 1941, Bronx, New York City with 3 additional years at Kent State University. She worked in JC Penney's ordering dept and Macy's ladies' lingerie in New York City. During WWII she volunteered as a USO girl dancing the nights away. Always proud of her New York roots. She married her former husband, Charles Brinker, moving to Kent, OH then to Stow and last 4 years Akron, OH.

Helen retired from National City Bank and Falls Savings Bank. She tutored students in reading, she volunteered to exercise a paraplegic, she loved to read, visit with friends and was a member of The United Methodist Church of Kent.

Helen is preceded in death by her father Daniel Muro, NY, mother Adeline Muro, CA, sister Dorothy Williams, CA. She is survived by her son, Richard Brinker, CA. Helen will be missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Grace House 475 N. Howard St., Akron, OH 44310. Until we meet again my friend.
