John Abney

John K. Abney, age 66, from Copley, Ohio, passed away January 26, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

His battle with health issues made him more determined to "beat this". Despite his pain, he fought strongly till the end. Although a quiet man, he spoke volumes of his family, his kids were his pride. John was in construction most of his life. He loved fall, hunting, fishing, the Cleveland Browns, and sitting around a campfire listening to country music and old time rock n roll.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Marion Abney, sister, Marianne Abney, sister-in-law, Jackie Harmon-Abney and nephew, Seth Pallone.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Kara (Bob) Kenepp, son, Brandon (Ashley) Abney and daughter, Alyssa Abney; 8 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Austin, Blake, Kylie, Kellen, Kane, Gracie and Kason; brothers, Larry (Charlotte) Abney and Jim Abney; sister, Monica (Bob) Tuthill; half brothers, Todd, Tom and Paul Abney, John (Anna) Walsh and Thomas (Kim) Walsh; ex-wife and friend, Sherry Labriola; childhood friend, Rick Ambrose; his dog, Cooper and many loving nieces and nephews.

Per John's wishes, there will be no services.

A celebration of John's life will be held 4:00pm Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Ohio Sportsmen Park, 1755 Jacoby Rd. Copley, Ohio 44321. Country or Cleveland Browns attire would be appreciated to honor John's memory.
