Marcus Marcellus Easton (Fella) was born August 15, 1971 to the late Audrey J. Easton and James Phillips. Marcus went to be with the Lord and his parents on January 15, 2025 after a short battle with cancer at Summa Health of Akron, Ohio.
Marcus attended Akron's Central Howard High School, and he worked in the Hospitality Industry for over 20 years, and he was also a devout follower of the Muslim Faith (Orthodox Muslim). He met his partner and common law wife, Rita Risser Fourteen (14) years ago and they were together until his passing. Marcus was a spirited soul person, and he will be known for his passion for faith, religion and spirited discussions about politics and social change. He loved practicing and studying his Muslim faith with his Muslim family at the Masjid Mosque in Akron Ohio.
Marcus is preceded in death by his Grandmothers Dolores C. Easton and Mary Philips, Grandfathers Keith Philps and William Easton Sr, Great-Grandparents Joseph & Lucille Malone and Great-Great Grandmother Florence Buffington. He was a beloved nephew of Dr. Joseph R. Malone and Alma Malone. He is survived in death by his two brothers and one sister; Everette Easton (Shannon) of Columbus Ohio, Matthew N. Portis Jr of Columbus Ohio and Margo Hubbard (Darnell) of Surprise Arizona. His Aunt-Deborah A. Easton of Massillon Ohio. Uncles; William Easton Jr, Joseph K. Easton (Mary) and Leroy K. Easton all of Akron, Ohio. Nieces; Chakara Easton, Mia Guyton, Jaysha Smith and Dennell Hubbard. Nephews; Deshawn Hudson, Martell Easton, Darvon Hubbard and Corey Mewborn. First Cousins; Tomica Hollingsworth (Keith), Joseph Easton Jr., Sharday Easton, Ayanna Easton all of Akron Ohio, Darius Smothers Canton Ohio, Maurice Malone and Nichelle Malone-Young living in California. He also leaves a host of other cousins and relatives.
Fella will always be remembered as being the "Character" of the family!
Marcus Easton's Memorial Service will be hosted on Monday, February 3, 2025 1:00 p.m.
