Martha Jones

Martha Loretta (Lori) Jones, age 83 of Suffield passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2025. She was born in Georgia on August 25,1941 to the late Aris Gallo. In addition to her mother, Lori was preceded in death by her husband Richard V. Jones (Dick) and her sisters Carol and June and brother Raymond.

Lori's legacy of love will be carried on by her children Kathryn Karam, Jennifer (Bill) Noveske, Mark Jones, Bill (Jodi) Jones and Tracy (Geoff Beckman) Jones; grandchildren Sydney (Tyler), Shelby, Benjamin, Isabelle, Samuel and Christian; great grandchildren Sloane; grand kitties Anderson, Cooper and Moo-Moo and grand puppies Tank, Cooper and Duncan; grand lizard Tozi. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many.

She met the love of her life, Dick, at Barney's, Tallmadge Springs, where he was working as a lifeguard. They married at the Historical Tallmadge United Church on Tallmadge Circle in 1962. Her kitchen was a place of warmth, laughter, and delicious aromas, filled with the sounds of family and friends gathered around the table. Her favorites included any kind of soup, stuffed peppers and sauerkraut balls. Her culinary artistry will be forever missed.

Lori loved her family, her church, and the many friends she made along her life journey. Lori was a faithful member of the Suffield United Church of Christ since 1975.

Special thanks to Pastor Karin and the Suffield Church family, the nurses at Akron City Summa T-3, and countless friends and family, for their compassion, love, care and support.

A private memorial service will be held for Lori's immediate family. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date, at Suffield United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, Lori's request was that you have a bowl of soup in her honor, and any donations to the Suffield United Church of Christ- Community Meals Program.
