Patricia Ruth Carbone, 77, resident of Akron died peacefully on July 13, 2024.
Pat leaves behind her loving sisters Kathy Lavery, Diana Baron, and Karen Abay (Amman); her nieces and nephews, Michael Lavery (Lynn), Patrice Hawk (Richard), Amy Beck (John, deceased), Nicholas Lavery, Lauren Tobias (Asher), Leah Abay; and a long list of beloved great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Helen Carbone.
Born on May 25, 1947, in Vallejo, California, Pat was the first child born to Michael and Helen Carbone. After graduating from Central High School, she worked at BFGoodrich for over forty years before retiring as the benefits administrator for BFGoodrich Aerospace. As a business executive, she gave back to her community by volunteering to work with young people in Junior Achievement for many years.
Although she never had children of her own, Pat was affectionately called "Aunt Pat" by both her nieces and nephews by blood and many bonus children over the years who came into her life through her large extended family and network of friends. She genuinely listened to others and fostered a love of reading and learning in young people. One of her special strengths was her spirit of generosity which permeated her entire life. Whether it was a new friend, a family member, or a stranger at a store, Pat found a way to make people feel heard, seen, and special within her presence. She often gave away trinkets and treats to family and friends and was well-known for trips to the bookstore, a new restaurant, or the nail salon with her nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by family and friends and was a blessing to all who knew her.
Per Pat's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. If you would like to honor Pat's memory, donate to your favorite charity, buy a book for your local library, or perform a random act of kindness.
