Ruthie Coulson

June 17, 1943 — January 4, 2025

Ruthie Elaine Coulson, age 81, peacefully passed on January 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Ruthie had been a long-time resident of the Willows Mobile Home Park in Akron, Ohio, prior to moving to Ravenna to stay with her daughter. She worked at Sterling Faucet in Morgantown, WV, and upon moving to Ohio, she retired from Wal-Mart as a cashier after ten years.

Many will remember Ruthie for her kind, gentle and loving personality. She was always willing to help and offer empathy to anyone near her. Ruthie's love of her family and friends was paramount and she was especially proud of her amazing daughters Debbie, Sandy, and Jeri. She also loved her cats like they were her children and they will continue to have a good home at Debbie's. Ruthie took great pride in her clean home and was well known for her beautiful yard and flowers. She loved to shop and you could often find her in the aisles of Kohl's and Lowe's. Ruthie was an avid reader and loved word puzzles. She

always enjoyed a good true-crime story and would never turn down a John Grisham book. She was also a spiritual woman who was strong in her faith and prayed more for others than herself. If you had the privilege of knowing Ruthie, you were blessed because you knew true kindness and love.

Ruthie Coulson is survived by two sisters, Judy Montgomery (Salem, OH) and Cindy Hill (Leetonia, OH) her daughters Debbie Kirby and partner John Smallwood (Ravenna, OH), Sandy Kirby (Akron, OH), Drs. Jeri and Mandy Kirby (Morgantown, WV), grandchildren Thomas and Ashley Coulson (Clarksburg, WV), Christa Green and partner Nicholas Garfield (Sebring, OH), great-grandchildren Nicholas, Jalynn, Paige, Finn, Natalie, Gemma, Hunter, Kasen, Jayse, Parker, and Sophia, and two great-grandchildren, who are on their way.

There are no words to express how much the people of this family will miss Ruthie, but we do believe in Heaven and angels and we know that there is no one who deserves these blessings more than Ruthie (our momma). Until we see you again.... We love you endlessly.

There will be a celebration of life for Ruthie on February 2nd, from 1-4 at the Randolph Community Center (1657 OH-44, Atwater, Ohio 44201). Please join us for Ruthie's favorite food, music, and testimony from friends and loved ones.
