Scott Garrett

August 2, 1961 — January 15, 2025

Scott Alan Garrett, born on August 2, 1961, went home to be with the Lord on January 15, 2025. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Garrett, mother, Frances Garrett, sister Tracy Embry, brother Mark Garrett, and grandson Zachary Garrett.

Scott leaves behind a loving family including his children: Ryan Garrett, Nikki (Matt) Holbrook, Tara (Joel) Seabolt, and Tavyia Thomas. He was a proud grandfather to Ryan Jr., Lilly, Addisyn, Carter, Lucas, Jordan, Carson, and Jaxon. He is also survived by his sisters: Terry (Don) Drainer, Robin (Chuck) Reese, and Dawn (Steve) Rogal, Brother in law Paul Embry, as well as many special nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his Special Friend, Gerri Heinbuch, and Gerri's family, who were dear to him.

Throughout his life, Scott shared enduring friendships with many, including his lifelong friends Bud Flesher and Brian Buterbaugh.

Scott's hobbies were as diverse as his collections. He hand-carved knife handles, which he generously gifted to family and friends. He loved fishing, gem mining with Gerri, watching sports, and spending time with his loved ones. Scott was an enthusiastic visitor of the Hartville Flea Market, where he had planned to set up a booth to sell his collections during his retirement. Among his treasured collections were cigar boxes, Harley Davidson trinkets, rocks, gems, knives, watches, antique vases from around the world, and coins. His travels to West Virginia to visit his dear friend Bud were some of his cherished memories.

As a long-time employee of Yarde Metal, Scott developed many friendships that he valued deeply. With his passing, he leaves behind many who will greatly miss him.

Per Scott's wishes, there will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life in his honor will be held at a later date.
