William Groff

William George Groff, known to all as Bill, was born 06-29-1945 and died unexpectedly on 05-4-2024. Born and raised in Kent, Ohio to parents Clarence Raymond Groff and Ester Elizabeth Groff nee Woodard. Bill worked for 38 years as a grain elevator operator at Williams Brothers Flour Mill in Kent which was then changed to Star of the West Milling, before retiring in 2010. Bill was a provider for his family and rarely missed work even in bad weather. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, fairs, Amish Country and remembering old times as well as listening to his police scanner so that he always knew what was going on in the area..

He was preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his daughter Amy Groff of Ravenna, Ohio and son William Groff of Munroe Falls, Ohio; grandsons Michael Groff of Ravenna, Ohio Pierce Groff and Garrett Groff of Brimfield; great grandsons Niko and Joshua of Ravenna.

Bill was very proud of his children and would speak of them often to whomever would listen. He will be missed, but the memories will live on in those that knew and loved him.

Per his wishes cremation has already taken place and there is to be no calling hours or services. Bill was a simple man that simply lived and that is how he wanted to be remembered.
